The acai palm berries is exceptionally unique as it is not only beautiful but it is beneficial as well.

The acai berry palm will start to produce tiny, purple clumps of berries within 4 years or less, depending on the variety you have to start with. The normal, traditional 100 foot tall acai palm berries you will find in the swampy areas of the Amazon will normally start to bear the clumps of tiny, purplish round fruits after four years or more.

The para dwarf acai berry which is a special form of acai berry palm produces fruits much faster than the wild acai berries grown in the Amazonian plains. The Para dwarf acai berry species produces shorter palm trees which makes it great to cultivate in your own garden. You can expect to harvest your very first acai berry fruits within 3 years or even less from gorgeous palm trees that is only 3 feet in height!! The dwarf variety will only reach 20 feet instead of the towering 100 feet.

Additionally, the Para Dwarf variety produces 25% more pulp per berry which makes it suitable for various commercial purposes. This are just some of the reasons why it is important to choose only the Para Dwarf variety when looking to grow acai berry palms in your own home.

It’s a beautiful sunny Friday here and I’m still waiting for my packet of seeds to arrive from Florida so we can start planting the acai berry palm seeds and shoot some pics to share with you.

It is simply gorgeous! It looks just like another ornamental palm we have but this one will bear delicious purple fruits we can enjoy! How’s that for beauty with a purpose?

It sounds like a great deal and so we placed our order for the first ten seeds from Anthony.

The seeds arrived within 2 weeks from Florida, and we planted them right away in our garden. We didn’t want the snails to get them so we used a poly planter bag to sow the seeds and protect it from snails and other slugs by using a snail repellant. The growth was very slow but we watched the seeds grow into young seedlings and then into bigger and more matured acai berry palm trees. We lost five plants along the way.

Out of these ten seeds, five plants made it into their first year. We encounter some stumbling blocks with the type of soil chosen and we learned some good learning experience along the way.

Our acai berry palm is now almost a year old and we are gonna share our own experience of growing these gorgeous Amazonian tropical plants which is definitely thriving happily in our garden right now in the hot and humid Malaysian climate.

In the weeks ahead, we’re gonna post pics of our acai palm berry in this blog so please visit us again to see our own live plant growing in Malaysia.

Everyone will have their own reasons why they want to grow these tropical beauties in their own garden but I’m gonna share a little story about my own reasons to grow the acai palm and how I stumbled upon this website one year ago and placed my first order of the acai berry palm seeds from Anthony.

My parents and I are avid enthusiasts of exotic plants and are always looking for new and exciting species to bring into our country, raise the plants and the ones that are successful and are happy to be in our climate, we share the seeds and plants with our neighbors and friends.

My dad is a loyal customer of AmazonThunder.com. We have sen his amazing transformation from a frail and sickly elderly guy to a more energetic and healthier person within 2-3 month just by taking this amazing juice harvested from the acai berry palm. Since then, I never stopped ordering the bottles of acai juice but there is only one problem.

The cost is VERY high to bring in those heavy bottles into my country, the guys were charging us almost more for the shipping than it could cost for the juice itself. The task becomes more bearable with the lighter acai pulp pouches.

However, the cost is still a little high considering we have to bring in there sets of the acai juice every month for the three of us in the family i.e Dad, Mom and me! We loved the acai pulp too much to miss out on this luxury indulgence each and every month.

One day, Daddy stumbled upon Anthony’s website acaipalmseeds.com and told me of his finding wtthe goodness of the acai palm berries into our country without the high price tag. Sure, it may take a little longer to get those palms to bear fruits over here but it’s always worth waiting for something good. And it’s always even better to start!

With our own acai berry palm we can save a LOT of money in the future as soon as these palm trees start to bear us the tiny, round purple fruits that we can harvest and make our own acai berry pulp.

Does this sound like a good reason to plant your own acai berry palm? I mean we’re talking about huge savings and even an extra income if you could bottle this and sell it to your neighbors and friends or supply to a local restaurant outlet.
